Most countries worldwide face the daunting challenge of providing healthcare to a large, diverse population in a cost-effective manner. then discuss the following questions:

Which country featured in the documentary had the most effective strategy for controlling healthcare costs?

Do you believe the U.S. should adopt healthcare cost control measures similar to any of the countries discussed in the documentary? If so, which one(s) and why?If not, what strategies should the U.S. employ to control health care costs?

The country the had the most effective strategy for controlling healthcare costs in my opinion was Japan due to the book guidelines that all physicians and hospitals must follow that is an amazing way to keep health insurances from intervening and physicians or hospitals from raising their service fees to unreasonable standards. Allowing for all the citizens in Japan to all pay the same prices across the country.

I strongly believe the U.S should adopt healthcare cost measures similar to Tawain, taking the best from each country can truly help boost our healthcare system not only for patients but also for Physicians & Hospitals finding a medium where everyone will benefit and will not place our healthcare systems in strain or financial burden. For example, the cost of premiums being based of monthly income salaries, a model they took from Germany, opposed to raising taxes such as Japan. In conclusion, the U.S should keep programs such as Medicaid and Medicare to help the elderly who are no longer able to work or retired, and insurance companies should be reduced from HMO’S to only PPO’S in order for all citizens to have the same access and quality to healthcare across the states. Last, reasonable cost guidelines to benefit both parties should be placed across the country that physicians and hospitals must follow to avoid excess costly fees from being charged to insurances and thus keep insurance premiums affordable to their clients/patients. In addition, I agree with U.S not everyone should be allowed for free healthcare. For example, there in now way a convicted prisoner should have equal rights as a hard working struggling single mother of two in this case the government should be able to cover the single mother vs a convicted felon in prison, they deserve to pay a copay.
