There are goals that all organizations should have in place that directly relate to the appropriate treatment of both their external customers and their internal customers, their employees. Businesses should aim to be profitable, honest, successful, and, most importantly, ethical. Serving others is an essential principle of the Old and New Testaments. However, many organizations succeed in satisfying external customers but fail to do so for employees. Leviticus establishes the importance of taking responsibility for our neighbor and hired workers (Leviticus 19:13). Jesus defined leadership as service, and by washing His disciples’ feet and serving them, He taught us how to be a servant leader and be humble while you have power and authority (Sanders, 2007).

A robust ethical policy will support and inspire employees while trusting them to follow policy and understand the ramifications of disregarding it. Several top-performing companies are led by CEOs who realize the value of quantitative and qualitative measures. Leaders within these companies possess some of the same standards and share comparable attributes. Christian leaders should compare the different worldviews with the biblical values to make sure they are not against the teachings of the Bible. The heart of the worldview should be in harmony with the values of a Christ-centered biblical worldview (Sire, 2009).

The principles of integrity, helping others, and stewardship have obvious biblical origins. Today these principles are more commonly known as best business practices. “The filter that we use to see the environment around us determines what we see. Our spiritual worldview is another expression that we use to filter what we gather through our eyes. Thus, to see things perfectly, we must have clear eyes that are devoid of evil” (Winston, 2002).
