Winnie Pooh (Binge Eating Disorder)

The characters of the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh showed different disorders based on their different character behavior in different scenes. Winnie the Pooh showed eating disorder that is characterized by recurrent binge eating, especially binge eating, in a discrete period of time, and taking food that is larger that what most people take in the same period under the same conditions (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). It is a sense of lack of control over eating in a given episode, which is a feeling a person can never stop binge eating. Although one may no think of this as a mental disorder, in the case of Pooh, it resulted to low-esteem, which is psychological leading to an excessive need for honey.

Tigger (Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorders)

Tigger demonstrated a behavior, which was hyperactive and impulsive. Tigger did not control his behaviors in most cases.The disorders entail problems in the self-control of behaviors, as well as emotions. He was not able to control his hyperactivity, and he is a bad role model because he was so impulsive (Milne& Shepard, 2012).

Piglet(Anxiety Disorder)

Anxiety disorder includes disorders that make an individual to share features of excessive fear and anxiety and related behavioral disturbances (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). In most, cases a person develops fear, which an emotional response to perceived or real imminent threat while anxiety is the anticipation of future threat. An individual will develop some panic attacks kind of behavior. Piglet developed a mental state in which fears anything. Piglet got over-nervous in many occasions, and this is clear in the manner his ears subtly twitch. This demonstrated that he had some anxiety, where he developed a fear in his life (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).

Rabit (Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders)

Rabit displayed obsessive behavior. Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorder (OCD) entails obsessions or compulsions (Milne& Shepard, 2012). Obsessions are recurrent, as well as persistent urge, thoughts, or images, which are encountered as invasive and redundant, whilst compulsions are cyclic behaviors or mind actions, which a person feels driven to perform a given response to an obsession, or based on rules, which should be applied rigidly. They are characterized by persistent body-focused repetitive behaviors, as well as constant attempts to lower or stop these behaviors.Rabit had unmanageable acts, like cleaning and, being a tidy freak.

Kanga and Roo (Social Anxiety Disorder)

Social anxiety disorderis when a person if fearful or anxious about social interactions and situations that entail the possibility of being scrutinized. The person feels recurrent excessive distress when anticipating to be separated from someone he loves. Kanga Roo was overprotective to the son, and she was obsessed to protect him and will not allow them to make decisions or their mistakes. It was evident that Kanga Roo “suffocated” her kids by not permitting them any time to stay on their own(Milne& Shepard, 2012).

Eyore (Depression)

Eyore was suffering from a major depression disorder. Depressive disorders are those disorders that entail the presence of sad, or irritable mood, which is accompanied by cognitive and somatic changes, which considerably affect the person’s ability to function. Eyore was feeling rejected and gloomy and lack of activity. He had a negative perspective of life (Milne& Shepard, 2012).

Christopher Robin (Schizophrenia)

Schizophrenia is a disorder that entails hallucinations. Hallucinations are perception-like experiences, which takes place without external stimulus. They are always vivid and clear, with full force and affect the normal perceptions, as well as not under voluntary control. In Christopher case, the imagination manifested through auditory hallucinations, where he forms other characters in his mind. Because of his tender age, he was learning the way to function and interact with the external world (Milne& Shepard, 2012).
