Research and share one service provider within your state or community that offers the support your recommended. Why did you choose this support and service? Include a Bible verse or link to another video to support your statement. Your thread must be at least 300 words.
2 REPLIES WILL FOLLOW least 150 word EACH
ASSIGNMENT 3
Articles from different professional journals must be used for the development of your critiques:
Journal Critique 2: TOPIC: Community-Based Supports and Services
For THE critique, follow these guidelines:
- Articles are not to be more than 1 year old.
- Current APA format must be used, including:
- A title page,
- A reference page, and
- Writing in third person.
- Critiques must be 2 FULL pages, not including the title page or reference page.
Include the following content:
- Summary of author’s position (1–2 paragraphs);
- Analysis of author’s premise and the extent to which it is backed up; and
- Response that specifically addresses your agreement/disagreement with author, and why.
INSTRUCTIONS: . Your writing voice is strong. Your sentence structures avoid over complication, trying to sound “smart/academic,” or over our heads. Keep this simple, direct tone because it not only works for you, it works for us!
- You need to use study data. The focus is on summarizing material. The focus on discovering HOW the author(s) arrived at their conclusions, which means stating the population (number being studied), the type of study (quantitative, qualitative), how they collected data (survey, interviews, observations, etc.), and how they analyzed it (ANOVA, t-test, etc. – you will learn more about these analysis methods in other classes). Always, always, always include this information. Finally, tell what the author(s) discovered. What do they recommend? What did they discover? Why is this significant? -5 points
- The analysis section of your paper needs researcher citations, names, and specifics. This was difficult to read and make sense of because I was unable to differentiate your voice from the researchers. Start sentences like this: “Bruce (2019) gathered data by……” This section should be full of the researchers name and citations!
- Because the review lacked the above details, I am still unclear about what the article was about, what problem was trying to be understood, what the researcher(s) did, how they did it, and what the results were. In the future, do your intro (which was good), then in the analysis do one paragraph on study details (answer the questions above) and the next paragraph on study results (what did the researcher discover). Then do your personal response and a conclusion.
