Write My Essay For MeCONCERT REPORT OUTLINE
I HAVE ATTACHED A LIST OF ELIGIBLE CONCERTS THAT YOU CAN VIEW ONLINE. IN YOUR REPORT, INCLUDE THE DAY YOU VIEWED IT AND THE URL ADDRESS. DO AS MUCH RESEARCH AS YOU CAN ON THE COMPOSERS TO OBTAIN THEIR BIRTH/DEATH YEARS AND ANY BACKGROUND INFORMATION YOU NEED IN LIEU OF PROGRAM NOTES WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN PROVIDED. AS CONCERT VENUES OPEN UP, YOU MAY WISH TO ATTEND A LIVE PROGRAM INSTEAD. THAT IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE AND PREFERABLE! JUST INCLUDE A PHOTO OF THE PROGRAM COVER (WITH VENUE, DATE, ARTISTS) AND THE PAGE WHICH LISTS THE WORKS PERFORMED.
Make sure you are attending a classical music performance featuring choral/vocal music or music for acoustic instruments (not electronic or synthesized instruments). It can be of any period of music that we have studied in class. The performing group can be a large ensemble (orchestra, symphonic band, choir, etc.) or a small ensemble (trio, duet, etc.). It may also be a solo recital for voice or any instrument. Most classical concerts give out a program to those in the audience. In lieu of a program, you will have to do a little research on the composers to find their birth/death years. (Wikipedia is perfect for this.) You must view the concert in its entirety, just as if you were there. No distractions or interruptions. Plan ahead and reserve the time. (Links to an external site.)
Please include the following in your report:
Date the concert was viewed and the URL address (if viewing a streamed or archived concert)
Program
List performer’s names. If a large ensemble like an orchestra, list only orchestra’s name and conductor’s name. If an opera, list the opera company, conductor, and principal singers.
List all titles and composers’ names with birth/death years; e.g., Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
Identify stylistic period(s) represented (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century) and the characteristics that were present in the music
Musical forms (binary; ternary; sonata form–usually reserved for pieces titled sonata, symphony, trio, or quartet; rondo form; theme and variations; symphonic poem; suite; if an opera–aria, recitative, chorus, duet, trio, quartet, overture)
Your favorite piece and why
Identify the title and composer and movement number (if applicable). There is usually a break between titles and a short break between movements. In rare cases, if it is impossible to determine the title, use the recorded timing of the piece (e.g., 5:10-8:30). The opera lists track titles in its videos.
Include musical reasons why you liked it and identify the period of music to which it belongs
Use musical terms in your descriptions (e.g., crescendo, tempo, pianissimo, staccato, phrasing, accents, etc.).
Performer’s rapport with audience (this may be just you!)
Stage presence (e.g., walk onto stage, body language, posture, bow)
Audience response (e.g., warm, loud, excited, apathetic), if there was an audience present, or your response as you are watching
Actual performance (e.g., dynamic, introspective, involved, successful?)—please be specific
Your impression (Did you like it? Would you hear this artist again?) and why
Your report should be written in essay form with paragraphs, not outline form, and between 400-600 words. Attach your report as a MicrosoftWord document or pdf file. Only these two file types will be accepted. Use this outline to take notes as you view the concert.
You will be graded largely on how completely you cover the bullet points above. See Concert Report Rubric.
The Turnitin tool is on. Submit your document to Turnitin.
