As an advanced practice registered nurse, I would use several strategies in reviewing and critiquing literature. First, I would create a learning environment, design, and deliver training programs like EBP journal clubs. Journey clubs are a great way to

In the new practice, it would also be essential to promote a culture of evidence-based decision making. I would encourage the use of clinical guidelines, as well as adherence to health care standards. I would also provide resources and conditions for utilizing research results.

Care coordination is achieved through the use of health IT systems because multiple medical professionals can communicate simultaneously and act appositely in the provision of care. They can share and disseminate logs, findings, and updates. Most of these IT systems have been set up around an EHR. Nevertheless, despite the above benefits, small and large healthcare organizations face challenges in implementing IT systems. Such challenges include high costs such as EHR and broadband implementation costs. These challenges mostly affect small organizations. There are also human resource challenges associated with making everyone in the organization embrace the technologies. Both small and large healthcare organizations have to dedicate resources and personnel to train employees on implementing the systems (Gabriel, Jones, Samy & King, 2014). Nevertheless, implementing these systems have more benefits than challenges in the long-term.

Thus, advanced nurse practitioners would get the time, support, and equipment that they require in implementing EBP. The healthcare organization would provide free access to EBP centers and knowledge management departments. Lastly, the new practice would monitor and evaluate EBP implementation to ensure that the results of only the most appropriate literature are used in decision-making.
