This website is called the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC is the most important healthcare website that is operated by the Department of Health and Human Services. The CDC purpose is to protect the United States against health and security attacks and to keep the public informed of any potential health outbreaks.

The rationale behind choosing the CDC is based on the quality of the website which has several quality website key indicators such as: how often the website is updated, content source information links, author information, site design, and working links.

Authority

The CDC website has earned credibility because all public and government healthcare agencies respect the content of this website. The CDC has a reputation of being the authority concerning public healthcare issues. This public trust and authority was established over several decades since 1946 with quality healthcare content. It is clear that the CDC mission is to protect the United States against health and security attacks and to keep the public informed of any potential health outbreaks. The CDC website is the tool that connects the public in the United States and other countries abroad. The website scores high marks in the areas of authority, information, objectivity, ease of navigation, privacy and security. The nursing professional can use the CDC website for clinical information, outbreaks statuses and for research.
